Refrigerated or frozen transport: what is the difference?

The difference between refrigerated and frozen transport is the condition in which products travel: chilled or frozen. Both require appropriate temperature agreements. A refrigerated vehicle is intended to maintain the agreed condition; do not assume goods will be frozen during transit. The product specification determines the required transport conditions.

Transporting chilled goods

Refrigerated transport keeps goods chilled without freezing being the intended condition. No single temperature suits every chilled shipment.

Transporting frozen goods

Frozen transport is intended for frozen products. The exact setting follows from the product specification and assignment. Do not automatically apply an example temperature to another product.

Same route, different assignment

Identical collection and delivery addresses do not make two shipments identical. Product, packaging, temperature and condition at loading must be clear for each enquiry.

What details should you provide?

State product name, required condition, pallets, weight and collection and delivery times. If several product groups have different requirements, have compatibility assessed beforehand.
